GORE-TEX Upper The upper of the Akyra II has been made with a breathable mesh that provides a constant flow of air whilst built-up heat escapes, keeping feet cool and comfortable throughout use. A GORE-TEX membrane in the upper ensures the boots are durably waterproof combined with optimised breathability offering enduring weather protection. Water stays on the outside while perspiration can easily escape from the inside, thanks to their non-insulated construction they are the ideal solution for people who value outstanding climate comfort and heat release. The shoes use a 3-layer upper construction for comfort and breathability, the stability is provided by the KPU 3D Grid, which is a cage-like structure that prevents excess movement, keeping your foot in an upright position and reducing the risk of injury. A traditional lacing system completes the upper, reducing in-shoe movement for distraction-free strides. Injection Moulded EVA Midsole The Akyra II GORE-TEX from La Sportiva uses an Injection Moulded EVA midsole that differs from the standard compression moulded EVA midsoles for a high degree of cushioning and better elasticity of the compound. These features assist the propulsion phase of the gait cycle, making these shoes ideal for use on off-road trails. Furthermore, EVA-injected midsoles drastically reduce the squash effect of the EVA over time, allowing the compound to maintain the same characteristics and high performance for its entire duration.
