GORE-TEX Upper Sealing out all moisture effectively, the upper of the shoe has a GORE-TEX membrane which will provide you with durable waterproofing. The membrane provides a protective layer that will stop any molecules of water from entering the shoes. Despite this, air is still allowed to pass through the material. This will mean that you will always have a constant flow of air in and out. This will mean that the feet will be kept in a comfortable climate throughout your run. The upper of the shoe doesn't have any external stitching in it. This will mean that it can flex without any damage being caused to the upper, or without any irritation to the feet being caused. The material thickens surrounding vulnerable areas of the feet for reinforced protection. To ensure that the fit is personalised and comfortable, the shoe uses Fusion Gate Technology to reinforce the fit and improve the feel within. This works in tandem with the secure lacing system, making sure that all of the foot feels snug. The laces are adjusted with an elastic cord with a retractable lace pocket for quick and easy securing of laces. The shoe has a high-rising Sock-Shield Gaiter that will offer protection from the entry of stones and mud. The gaiter is also water-resistant, wicking away all surface moisture instantly. Injected EVA Midsole The midsole on the Blizzard is designed to provide the perfect balance of fluidity, stability and flexibility. The injected EVA in the midsole and other technical additions help the shoe achieve this. Towards the bottom of the midsole, the EVA is extremely firm and will absorb shocks instantly. This will prevent them from reaching the sole of the foot, and it will also improve the stability of the shoe by spreading the energy evenly. The EVA towards the top of the midsole softer, which will provide underfoot cushioning. Inside the midsole, there are TPU stabilisers, which spread energy evenly to keep you in a level position. A dual-density EVA rock guard insert within the midsole will protect the foot from heavy contacts with sharp rocks. The midsole is also versatile and will react to surfaces differently. On the harder ground, the midsole focuses on improving the durability, whereas on softer ground, responsiveness is improved.
