Nike have updated the Air Zoom unit for the first time in the Alphafly's history, making it softer and quieter. The minimalist fabric sits close to the foot to ensure a dynamic, lightweight fit ideal for racing, whilst perforations within the fabric increase airflow, allowing cool air to circulate while simultaneously allowing hot, humid air to escape to create a perfect microclimate for feet to thrive, so you can remain cool, dry and comfortable at all times. An integrated heel unit locks the heel in place to prevent excessive movement, and the notched lacing system provides a secure, locked-in fit that can be personalised to your preference. Working alongside the lacing system is an integrated knit tongue with lofted padding to ensure a confident fit, which helps to alleviate lace pressure. ZoomX and ZoomX LT Midsole Utilising dual foams, the midsole of the Alphafly 4 features both ZoomX and the newly formed ZoomX LT foams. Sitting atop is the ZoomX LT foam, which offers lightweight cushioning, providing exceptional comfort and protection for your feet. This foam is up to 17% lighter than standard ZoomX, offers 8% more energy return, and works to absorb shock upon foot strike to help prevent injuries while remaining highly responsive so you're able to push further for longer. Working in tandem with this is a layer of ZoomX foam, which enhances energy return, giving you the propulsion needed from a racing shoe. Sandwiched between the two foams is a full-length carbon-fibre Flyplate, providing a responsive feel with each stride. The carbon plate has been designed to be slightly wider than in previous versions, enhancing stability and facilitating a smooth transition through each stride and cadence, while also enabling you to navigate turns easily. For the first time in the Alphafly's history, the dual forefoot Air Zoom units of the Alphafly 4 have been updated to be quieter than ever before and work alongside the dual foams and Flyplate to deliver forward propulsion.
