Engineered Knit Mesh Upper The Escalante Racer 2 features an updated knit mesh upper that delivers a sleek and stylish look whilst remaining highly breathable. The sleek, smooth knit is comfortable against the skin, whilst micro-perforations allow built-up heat and moisture to escape and cool fresh air to flow in. The Original FootShape Fit provides added comfort, allowing your foot to sit more naturally and providing more space for toes to splay. This spacious construction addresses the biological differences between men's and women's feet, providing more space in the shoes. Completing the upper is a lacing system which locks down the midfoot so you can enjoy distraction-free strides. Altra Ego Midsole Underfoot, the Escalante Racer 2 delivers a firmer platform of Altra's iconic Ego midsole foam that delivers a comfortable, responsive feel. The cushioning is extremely responsive, with outstanding rebound properties for comfort during fast runs and tempo sessions. It also works alongside standard EVA that protects and rebounds your landing. Sitting directly underneath the foot, the cushioning reduces ground impact and returns the energy as a spring for each step taken. 22mm of this foam cushions the foot, protecting you as you strike unforgiving surfaces. The midsole also features a zero-drop platform. This means the heel and the forefoot are the same distance from the ground, encouraging proper low-impact form throughout your run. Durable Rubber Outsole The outsole of the Escalante Racer 2 has been constructed from durable and abrasion-resistant rubber to ensure long-lasting use and enjoyment.
