After testing it on elite runners and real athletes, Puma has digitally engineered and optimised the product based on data. Fast-R3 is designed to shave minutes off your race time. Ultraweave Upper Made from Puma's Ultraweave Upper, just like the previous model, the Fast-R 3 Nitro Elites have been created to be as light as possible, comfortable and breathable. The upper has a built-in 4-way stretch design that reduces weight and allows the foot to move comfortably, providing a perfect sock-like fit. This also helps reduce friction, preventing rubbing and chafing for distraction-free running so you can focus on what matters. Perforations within the fabric allow cool air to flow whilst allowing built-up heat to escape, providing a cooling sensation as you move and a drier, healthier environment for your feet to thrive. Not only this, but the upper is highly durable thanks to its construction, leaving you with shoes that are built to last. Puma has added PWRTAPE to the instep of the shoes, enhancing the shoes' structure and support while protecting high-wear areas. Finally, the traditional laces provide a secure, locked-in feel as you move. Nitro Elite Midsole The Fast-R 3 Nitro Elite has been created using Puma's new and improved Nitro Elite Foam. This nitrogen-infused foam is lighter and springier, for increased energy return and responsiveness compared to the previous foam. To increase underfoot cushioning and race-day comfort, Puma has increased the stack height of the shoes. This will delay fatigue, keeping you running faster for longer. Puma has expanded their midsole, infusing nitrogen into the foam, making the shoes extremely comfortable underfoot whilst providing maximum propulsion with each step. The foam propels you forward, helping you to hit those PBs, but it also absorbs shocks and negative impact forces as you strike hard, unforgiving surfaces. This reduces stress on the joints and the risk of injury. This has been teamed with an extended PWRPLATE through the midsole, a carbon-fibre plate that enhances energy return and forward propulsion, keeping you focused on your target. The combination of the two has a 3.15% improved running economy, translating to an unprecedented potential marathon time saving of more than 4 minutes and 30 seconds for a 3-hour marathon runner. With a new and updated foam, Puma has also been able to reduce the weight of the shoes by 95g. PUMAGRIP Outsole PUMAGRIP returns on the outsole of the Fast-R 3 Nitro Elites.
