Dual-Layer Mesh Upper Crafted from a newly designed mesh upper, the Ultraventure is more durable and breathable than ever before. The upper uses a dual-layer system, making it more durable and increasing the shoe's longevity. Slightly thicker than previous iterations, it shields your feet from knocks, scrapes, and trail debris damage better than ever. For added protection, Topo has increased the amount of TPU overlays on the upper and placed them in high-abrasion zones to resist tearing. Specifically placed perforations increase airflow, encouraging cool air to circulate while releasing built-up heat, for a comfortable, distraction-free ride. With Topo's signature fit and an anatomical toe box, your toes splay naturally, providing a more comfortable and natural feel while increasing stability as you move. The upper is narrower in the heel and midfoot for a locked-in feel, while the soft, padded tongue sits close to the foot for increased comfort. Paired with a traditional lacing system, the shoes offer a secure fit and reduced in-shoe slippage. An updated universal gaiter system completes the upper, adding another layer of versatility when you want extra protection from dirt, rocks, and trail debris. Zip Foam Midsole Now with a softer full-length ZipFoam midsole, the Ultraventure 5 provides an even smoother and more energetic ride. ZipFoam is Topo's proprietary midsole compound, springier than EVA and offers more rebound than standard foam. The foam is now lighter and softer underfoot. The foam absorbs shock instantly to prevent discomfort and injury, dampening impacts while striking tough terrain. It returns the absorbed energy as rebound, propelling you into your next stride so you can pick up the pace and run longer. The midsole stays at a 5mm drop, Topo's highest drop, offering natural running with under-heel cushioning. Atop the midsole is an Ortholite performance insole for lasting step-in comfort, resilience, and antimicrobial properties. A refined rockered geometry with an early forefoot rocker and mild heel bevel features to provide better running efficiency, minimising energy loss so you can run for longer.
